Deadline to register for Ontario’s Municipal Election ends today

Potential candidates have until 2:00 p.m. this afternoon to register to run in municipal elections this fall.

The election is for mayoral, city council and school board trustee positions.

Candidates who are running for positions without any opponents will be elected by default at 4:00 p.m. on Monday Aug. 22. In Hamilton, no city council candidates are running un-opposed.

Voters across Ontario will cast their ballots on Oct. 24.
