Make Snacktime Healthy

Spending quality family time in the kitchen is a must over the long weekend. It’s easy to incorporate some DIY fun along with healthy eating by way of smoothies and popsicles

Mix strawberries, bananas, ice, raw apple juice and beets. Wild says she sneaks healthy vegetables in the smoothies, like beets.

“You can pour your smoothie mix into popsicle bowls for a fun twist on something familiar,” said Wild. “Bring the kids into the kitchen, get them involved-”

 Indoor Camp Night

Here’s a fun idea for the long weekend: Host your own camping night indoors! Set up a tent (or create your own variation using a bedsheet), then tell ghost stories around a faux fire pit, play travel games, and make S’Mores and hot dogs.

DIY Twister 

With some basic construction paper and a little creativity, have kids create their own game of Twister. They’ll have fun making something from start to finish, then the whole family will love getting in on the fun.
