COVID-19 surging across the U.S. with new cases and deaths on the rise

The United States is seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Over 10.3 million cases have been recorded and cases per day are on the rise in 49 states.

Deaths per day are climbing in 39 states.

A month ago, the U.S. was experiencing about 730 COVID-19 deaths a day.

Now that’s up to 970 deaths a day.

Texas has become the first state with more than 1 million confirmed COVID-19 cases and California is nearing that mark.

Health experts have blamed the increase in part on the onset of cold weather and growing
frustration with mask-wearing and other precautions.
