Copps to go for it

First Published:

Sheila Copps says she is going to run for the presidency of the Liberal Party of Canada, because there is a danger the party could sink into oblivion.

The former Hamilton MP and cabinet minister does not want the Liberals to merge with the NDP, saying it needs to be in the centre of the canadian political debate. Copps also says merging with another party simply to win is not a good enough reason to “torch the Liberal party.” She is committed to young voters and believes people spend too much time talking about the past instead of the future.
