Clean up continues after wall of building collapses on Dundurn St.

First Published:

The City of Hamilton says its building division is working with the owner of the building that partially collapsed earlier this week.

Hamilton Police tweeted about the structure collapse on Dundurn St., between Chatham St. and Melbourne St., just before 3 p.m. on Monday.

Video sent to CHCH News shows the moments when the exterior wall of the building collapsed. Parts of the wall fall onto a truck, which was parked right outside the building.

The road was closed and people were advised to avoid the area while the City of Hamilton building department reviewed the scene.

The city says safety measures have been put in place to protect nearby residents and passersby while clean up continues.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic is expected to be fully restored within the next few weeks.
