Check out these upcoming family charity events

First Published:

As parents we have a million things on the go. So we thought it would be a good time to bring in Julie Cole, co-founder of Mabel’s Labels, a parenting blogger and a mom of 6 in to talk about some upcoming family focused events in area.

Throughout the pandemic there was an increase in the need for services for women, particularly maternal mental health.  To help raise funds to support these women, St Joseph’s Healthcare is holding the Run for Women at Confederation Park May 14th.  When you register you will receive a swag bag full of goodies from Shoppers Drugmart.

Another really exciting event is The Halton Women’s Place Fashion Fundraiser.  The fashion fundraiser is going to be showcasing designs by Joseph Tassoni, with many local celebrities walking in the fashion show, including our very own Annette Hamm.  The event will take place at No Excuse Boxing Facility in Burlington on Thursday May 12th.

Julie Cole is involved in both of these events, and tomorrow something very exciting for her is happening.  Her book Like a Mother launches.  In this book she shares the journey of how she went from doing a master’s degree in education, to going to law school, to making labels and raising six kids.  The book can be found at Indigo, Amazon, Coles and online.
