What’s open and closed Labour Day

It’s not very often we see two holiday weekends in August, but with Labour Day falling on September 1st this year, the unofficial end of summer is already upon us. Here’s a list of what’s open and closed on Monday:

Closed:
-Government offices
-Banks
-LCBO and beer stores
-Most grocery and retail stores

There is no mail delivery, and electricity will be at the off-peak rate all day. In most areas garbage and recycling collection will be delayed a day all week.

Open:
-Ontario Science Centre
-Canada’s Wonderland
-Wild Water Kingdom
-The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
-CNE

Most transit services are running on Sunday schedules but may start with earlier hours. Burlington Transit has a special holiday schedule.
