Troop scores $500K severance

The Pan Am Toronto 2015 games organizing committee and its former CEO Ian Troop have reached a severance agreement.

Troop will receive $478,000 in cash. He’ll also received deferred retirement benefits including an RRSP of $27,000, and medical and health benefits of $15,000.

Troop was the CEO of the organizing committee from 2010 to 2013. He was fired in December, and while the reason hasn’t been confirmed, there were reports that he was let go over leadership issues. He was also under fire for his salary and expenses.

Troop was paid a base salary of $390,000.
