Three hospitalized following Barton Street crash, say Hamilton police

Hamilton police say three people were taken to hospital after a serious crash on Barton Street.

Officers responded to the scene around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, at which point they closed all lanes of Barton Street between Belview and Rosslyn avenues.

Investigators determined that a Honda Odyssey van collided with a Kia Forte near the railroad tracks next to Belmont Avenue.

All three occupants of the Kia were transported to hospital, one with critical injuries. The driver of the Honda only suffered minor injuries.

The roads have since reopened.

Police say the cause of the crash is still unknown, but an investigation is underway.
