Senior charged in careless driving death of child outside of St. Catharines aquatic centre

Niagara police detectives have charged the driver of a vehicle that killed a boy outside of an aquatics centre in St. Catharines this summer.

The collision happened on July 31 in the parking lot of the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre on the corner of Carlton and Niagara streets.

A 74-year-old St. Catharines resident — who remained on scene at the time of the incident — has been charged with careless driving causing death.

The investigation is ongoing.
