Reducing winter allergies

Spending more time at home during the winter months can be hard on people who suffer from mold, dust or pet allergies. But allergists have some simple tips to limit your exposure to these indoor triggers.
Use exhaust fans and de-humidifiers to keep your indoor humidity level between 30 and 40-percent to prevent mold growth, which can cause asthma attacks and breathing problems. To ward off dust mites, keep carpets clean, floors mopped and regularly wash bed linens and pajamas in hot water. Experts also recommend upgrading to high efficiency furnace filters, which capture 30-times more allergens.
