RCMP bust smugglers

The RCMP have busted an international crime ring believed to be smuggling illegal cigarettes and drugs into Canada.

For the past two years, authorities in Vancouver and Toronto have been tracking sea containers bound for Canada from Asia.

Police say the containers were carrying unstamped cigarettes and drugs used in the manufacturing of amphetamines and methanphetamines.

Eight people from Niagara Falls, the GTA and in B.C. face numerous charges.
