Raptors set franchise record

According to Forbes magazine, the Raptors have raised their average ticket price for the playoffs by 242 per cent, from $108 during the regular season to $370 for the first round.

Last night the team set a franchise record. A 110 to 100 victory over Milwaukee, gave Toronto their 48th win of the season, a feat that no other Raptor squad has ever accomplished.

“This is really cool. I’ll think about it after the season, for me personally, I’m sure most of the guys will reflect on it after the season is over,” says Kyle Lowry.

With their focus obviously on the NBA playoffs, there was little attention paid to this milestone.

Mid-season acquisition Grievis Vasquez led the team with 25 points, while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 24. Beating a team with the worst record in the NBA did not seem to impress Dwane Casey.

“We’re not where we need to be defensively or offensively for the playoffs and we’re not a veteran team that can take 3 or 4 games off and expect to come back and keep that rhythm.”

Before the game even began, the Raptors made sure it was going to be a memorable night.

Unveiling the Atlantic Division banner was something 5-year Raptors’ veteran Amir Johnson had been waiting for.

“It was great.It made me smile just to have something accomplished, to look up top and have a banner there.”

The Raptors play their last game of the regular season on Wednesday night in New York, and the playoffs begin Saturday.
