Police warn of rise in mailbox break-ins in Halton region communities

Halton police are warning residents of an increase of break and enters in community mailboxes across the region.
Officers are investigating after a spike of break-ins of mailboxes in the Millcroft and Orchard neighbourhoods.
They say there have also been reports of break-ins in Oakville and Milton.
Investigators say suspects have been using tools to pry open parcel lockers and steal mail and packages between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Detectives have not made any arrests in the investigation yet.
Halton police said they will be conducting extra patrols in these areas, but are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.
