Halton police are investigating two separate June incidents in which children in Burlington were followed by a suspicious man on the same day.
Both took place on Tuesday, June 10. Police say that it is unknown if the suspect in both cases is the same person.
In the first incident a boy and a girl were followed home from St. John Catholic Elementary School on Brant Street by an unknown man who had been spotted standing and waiting with parents at dismissal time but did not pick anyone up.
The man proceeded to follow the children on their way home for more than a kilometre.
Police say that the man turned and walked back towards the direction of the school when the children arrived at the street where their home was.
The man is described as approximately 40 years old with brown skin, tall and with an average build. He has black hair and black facial hair and was wearing glasses, a black striped shirt with blue jeans and white shoes and was using white Airpods.
Second June 10 incident
On the same day police report that a female teenager was followed by a man in the Headon Forest area while walking her dog on the hydro path between Headon Forest Drive and Deer Run Avenue.
The girl passed the man who was sitting on a bench and he began to follow her while allegedly attempting to hide his face behind his hoodie.
The teenager became nervous and ran back to her home. Police say that once in her yard the man remained in the area for a short period.
The man is said to have brown skin, a thin build and is around 6 feet tall with a black beard. He was wearing a grey hoodie with writing on the back and was sporting black pants and white Adidas shoes with black stripes.
