A pedestrian is in hospital with serious injuries after they were hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of Brant and Fairview streets in Burlington.

Investigators have closed the intersection to investigate with the assistance of the Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck is still being assessed for their injuries.

Officers say they received the report of the accident at around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
