Drivers of a Lexus RX, Honda CR-V or Ford F-150 pickup truck were most likely to have their vehicle stolen in Ontario last year, according to new insurance data.

Équité Association, an organization that works with insurance companies to reduce fraud, published Monday its list of the top 10 most stolen vehicles in Ontario and across Canada.

“Not only does auto theft cost Canadians millions of dollars each year, the proceeds of this illegal activity also fund organized crime and terrorism, both domestically and internationally,” said Bryan Gast, vice-president of investigative services at Équité Association.
