The fire department at the Town of Lincoln says no one was reported hurt after a fire broke out at a home in the area of Village Park Drive and Crescent Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
The Lincoln Fire Rescue deputy fire chief Bill Blake says firefighters were dispatched to a possible fire at around 4:20 p.m.
He says a sizable amount of smoke and flames on the second floor became visible after a window broke due to the high heat.
Blake says the fire appeared to be confined to a room on the second floor.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading further, and quick actions kept it from reaching the attic.
The deputy fire chief says the fire was brought under control within minutes of their arrival, and the scene was cleared by 7:30 p.m.
They have not determined the cause of the fire, or have an estimate on the damages to the building.
Blake confirms that residents of the home and their pets were able to escape the burning building safely.
