Morning crash in rural Burlington sends driver to hospital

Halton police have reopened roads after an early morning crash sent the driver of a commercial vehicle to hospital.

Officers say at about 5:44 a.m., a commercial vehicle was travelling southbound on Appleby Line, south of Britannia Rd in the City of Burlington.

Detectives say the commercial vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch on the West side and rolled over onto the passenger side.

The lone male driver was transported to an out of region trauma hospital where he remains in serious condition.

Appleby Line was closed for approximately six hours for investigation and road cleanup.
