McMaster students show off creations at innovation showcase

McMaster University students got a chance to show off their inventions and bright ideas at the McMaster innovation showcase today.
The focus for this year’s poster competition is entrepreneurship and community engagement. Students were given the opportunity to network, and pitch their technology and ideas to industry and government representatives.
As Gay Yuyitung of the McMaster Industry Liason Office explains, “it’s kind of just getting to the stage of, what do you need to know to get ready for investment, as well as we’re hoping that companies are going to be around that are going to say, ‘That’s a solution that I actually need’ and that would be great so trying to get that custome validation and market traction.”
This year’s inventions ranged from solutions in the healthcare industry, to smartphone apps. 3 winners from different categories will be chosen, and awarded $1,000.
