Man faces multiple charges after drugs, weapons seized in Thorold search

Niagara Regional Police have charged a man after currency, multiple drugs, and firearms were seized after a search warrant in Thorold Tuesday.
Officers began a drug trafficking investigation earlier in May in the cities of St. Catharines and Thorold.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Keefer Road and an Acura sedan as part of the investigation.
Investigators say the search led to the seizure of a large amount of drugs including:
- Over a kilogram of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $100,000
- Over 400 grams of suspected fentanyl and carfentanil, with an estimated street value of $45,000
- 138 pills totalling over 80 grams of suspected oxycodone, with an estimates street value of $700
They also found nearly $40,000 in Canadian currency, which is currently under review.
Three high-end watches (a Rolex, a Cartier, and a Audemars Piguet) and four diamond chains, totalling an estimated value of over $100,000, were also found.
Police also seized a loaded Palmetto 9mm handgun, a loaded Glock 9mm handgun – of which there was a round found in the chamber – and ammunition.
Officers have charged 30-year-old Liiban Noor of Thorold with multiple offences related to possessing weapons, possessing schedule I substances for the purposes of trafficking, and having property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Noor was held for a bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse Wednesday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
