Man dies in single-vehicle crash, OPP closes part of Highway 54

A man has died after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 54 in Haldimand early Tuesday morning.
The Ontario Provincial Police have closed the highway just outside of Caledonia, between Onondaga Townline and Mines roads.
Officers say they responded to the report of the crash just after 12:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Police tell CHCH News the car hit the guard rail and rolled several times.
Investigators say they will likely be at the scene with the road closed until about 12:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
“Our thoughts are going out to all family members and friends affected by this tragedy,” Sgt. Ed Sanchuk says in a video posted to X about the crash.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or residents with video surveillance to come forward to police.
