A man and a woman have been charged after a search warrant at a home in Crystal Beach Tuesday led to the seizure of drugs and weapons.

Niagara Regional Police executed a search warrant at a home on Devon Place as part of an investigation into the suspected sale of controlled substances.

As a result of the search, officers say they seized:

  • Around 3,500 grams of cannabis.
  • Nearly 70 grams of MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine).
  • 11.6 grams of fentanyl.
  • One .22 calibre rifle.
  • A quantity of ammunition.
  • A set of nunchuks (nunchaku).

52-year-old Rosario Morin and 51-year-old Denise Audit, both residents of Crystal Beach, were arrested at the home.

Audit has been charged with offences related to possessing Schedule I substances for the purposes of trafficking, possessing a prohibited weapon and for careless storage of a firearm.

She was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Investigators say Morin was also found to be in possession of around 20 grams of fentanyl, nearly 6 grams of crystal methamphetamine and $350 of Canadian currency on them.

He was charged with offenses related to possessing Schedule I substances for the purposes of trafficking, possessing a restricted firearm without a licence, and having proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000.

Morin remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Wednesday at a St. Catharines courthouse.
