Lowry re-signs with Raptors

(Update)
The Toronto Raptors made it official today. The team re-signed star point guard Kyle Lowry to a multi-year deal worth millions.
Star point guard Kyle Lowry took to the stage at the Raptors news conference to the delight of his fans: “I gotta steal it. This is awesome!”
Re-signed for a reported four years and 48 million dollars, the hottest free agent on the market as far as point guards go – says the decision to remain a raptor was easy: “I wanted to make my own decision. I wanted to make it when I was ready. I was ready after day one so that how easy the process was.”
Other teams were interested in him including the L.A. Lakers and Miami Heat but Lowry didn’t even bother meeting with them: “Everyone says Toronto can’t do this, t.o. can’t sign back free agents. I just proved that wrong. I’m back.”
Raptors fans were happy with the signing.
“He’s definitely our MVP from last year, He does everything — score, pass, charges, everything.”
“He was the heart and soul of the team last year. He started — stepped up as a leader. Showed this is a city he wants to be in 3-4 years and he’s going to be a Raptor.”
“It just shows we’re growing as a team, we got a bright future ahead of us, were ready.”
This is the first time in 10 years an unrestricted free agent has decided to resign with the Raptors. Lowry says players just want to win and with last seasons playoff birth the Raptors are showing they are capable of that.
Masai Ujiri, Raptors General Manager: “We want to win in Toronto. We want to go out there and compete in the NBA. We want to fight. We want to stand on our own.”
Ujiri says other NBA players will take notice: “He’s creating a platform to win. Players in the NBA see that. They see they want to come and play here. It’s a great atmosphere. We expect more players to come here!”
And fans here are excited that they’ll have lots more to cheer for.
