International arrests made in alleged Toronto-led porn operation
Spanish authorities have arrested 28 people on suspicion of links to a Toronto led child pornography network.
The investigation began back in April after Interpol told Spanish police about a network, headquartered in Toronto, dedicated to the sale of child pornographic videos.
An official in the Spanish government says the videos were created by abusing minors in Ukraine, Romania and Germany.
The videos are said to have been sold through three websites and distributed in 94 countries, netting an estimated annual income of $1.6 million.
A spokeswoman from Toronto police confirmed a connection to Toronto, but would not provide any further details on the investigation.
