Health Canada has recalled two bike helmets manufactured last autumn due to a possible injury hazard.

The recall involves Bell Cadence Youth Helmets sold by Walmart that can be identified by the inner helmet sticker with the model name “Cadence”, model B0605Y and a date code of “9/24”.

Only helmets made in September of last year are affected. The helmets were sold between Sept. 2024 and May 2025, with nearly 500 purchased in Canada.

“The helmet may fail to protect the person during a fall or crash, posing a risk of head injury,” a statement from Health Canada read.

While no injuries have been reported, Health Canada advises to immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact Bell Sports for a refund.
