Hamilton police search for missing St. Joe’s West 5th patient

Hamilton police say they’re searching for a 40-year-old man who was discharged from hospital without authorization.
On Thursday, St. Joseph’s reported to police that Barry Dip had disappeared. Officers say he is managed as an outpatient at a facility in Wentworth Street South.
Investigators discovered Dip had been admitted to the General Hospital, but was discharged without authorization around 10 a.m.
Dip can become a risk to the public if he is not taking his medication. Police are urging community members to not approach him if seen, and to call 9-1-1 to report his location.
Police describe Dip as 5’9″ and approximately 200 lbs. He has shaved black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing grey basketball shorts and a dark t-shirt.
