Hamilton police investigating smash-and-grab at Ancaster jewelry store

Hamilton police are investigating after a smash-and-grab at a jewelry store in Ancaster just before 4 a.m. Monday morning.

Officers say that at around 3:40 a.m., four people entered the jewelry store on Wilson Street by smashing the exterior glass and prying open an interior metal door.

The four people then smashed display cases and stole multiple items before leaving the area.

Detectives are still working to determine what merchandise was stolen.

Investigators believe the individuals were operating a grey Dodge Caravan and wearing dark clothing.
