Hamilton police investigating patient death at St. Joseph’s West 5th Campus

Hamilton police are investigating a suspicious patient death at St. Joseph’s Healthcare West 5th Campus.

Police say a female patient was found unresponsive shortly after 4 p.m. April 23.

It was initially believed the woman died of a medical episode. However, further examination revealed the death was not due to natural causes.

According to hospital protocol, police were called to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

A spokesperson with Hamilton police said it’s “extremely early into this investigation and our detectives are still working to uncover answers.” They could not provide more details.
