Hamilton police increasing patrols on city trails again after 2 more women targeted

Hamilton police will be increasing patrols on area trails after two more women were sexually assaulted on August 25th between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The two separate incidents happened on the Chedoke Trail near the golf course. The two women told police they were groped by a man riding by on a bicycle.

Hamilton police say there have been several similar incidents on Hamilton trails since June. They will be increasing patrols this weekend to help keep the trails safe.

Police say women should walk or run the trail with a partner, tell someone their route and the expected time they’ll be gone, carry a cellphone or personal alarm device and if they are confronted, be loud, and shout for help.

Police say the man is described as a white man, possibly in his early 20s, skinny build with light brown hair, wearing all black and an orange backpack, and riding a dark coloured mountain bike.
