Hamilton man charged for death of infant in 2023

Hamilton police have charged a Hamilton man for the death of a four-month-old girl that happened back in November 2023.

Emergency crews say they were called to an apartment on Champlain Avenue in Hamilton just before 6 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2023.

Paramedics found an unresponsive Annaleigh Storey and transported the girl to hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Police said preliminary findings raised the possibility that Storey’s death could have been suspicious.

At the time of the incident, Storey was being cared for by her mother’s boyfriend.

The man was released unconditionally after speaking with investigators.

Hamilton police recently received Storey’s full autopsy report, which confirmed that she did not die from natural causes.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Damion Warren-Baker Thursday in Hamilton and charged with manslaughter.

Warren-Baker is scheduled to appear in a Hamilton courthouse Friday.
