Hamilton Liberal MP Chad Collins welcomes Trudeau’s resignation

Hamilton Liberal MP Chad Collins is welcoming Prime Minister Trudeau’s decision to step down.

Even with the party trailing in the polls, Collins says it’s too early to count the Liberals out in the upcoming election.

Reactions have been mixed, some favorable, others less so, particularly on the Trudeau carbon tax and other policies.

The Taxpayers’ Federation suggests that scrapping the carbon tax could help the Liberals retain a few seats across the country, though the government would still likely face defeat in an election.

Collins also mentioned that he hasn’t decided whether he will run again in Hamilton East-Stoney Creek.
