Hamilton bar shut down after downtown shooting

A popular downtown Hamilton bar has been shut down after a shooting late last month.
Core Urban — owners of Zen Lounge at the corner of John and Jackson streets near where the Aug. 30 incident took place — posted a letter outside the establishment announcing the closure.
The Hamilton Spectator reports that the letter reads, in part: “A downtown in fear is not the Hamilton we know or we want to foster.”
More than 80 shots were fired across Jackson and Bowen streets, targetting three young men who had just left Zen Lounge.
