Halton police have charged one man, and are looking for two suspects involved with a home invasion in Oakville Thursday morning.

Officers say three people had broken into a home on Brookfield Crescent at around 4 a.m., through the back door.

They say at least one person had a handgun.

Detectives say multiple residents of the home confronted the suspects after hearing the sound of breaking glass.

Investigators say a shot was fired in the home by a suspect. No resident of the home was reported injured and no property was taken.

One person tried to escape into the basement of the home, where they were found by officers and arrested.

Police believe the suspects were planning to steal a vehicle.

Officers have charged 20-year-old Trevaughn Walker of North York with robbery with a firearm, and disguising with intent offences.

Detectives are looking for two men who were wearing dark-coloured clothing and face masks.

They are also looking for a dark coloured sedan suspected to be involved with the home invasion.

Anyone with information or video of the area of Brookfield Road and Lakeshore Road West between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. are asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.
