Halton police arrest man connected to break-in at Oakville home

Halton police have arrested a man connected to a break and enter at an Oakville home Thursday morning, where two vehicles were taken.
Officers say at around 3:15 a.m., multiple suspects broke into a home on Ribble Crescent, where they took the keys to two luxury vehicles parked in the driveway, and drove them away while residents were asleep.
A few hours later, an officer saw a suspicious vehicle parked at a townhouse complex on Sheridan Garden Drive, along with a group of males wearing masks.
The suspects then tried to drive away in the vehicle after seeing the officer, but crashed into a marked police cruiser.
No one was injured in the collision.
Investigators were able to arrest one man after a foot chase.
Following a search of the vehicle, detectives say they found evidence linking the males to the break-in and vehicle thefts on Ribble Crescent earlier that morning.
The two stolen vehicles from that break-in have not been recovered by police.
Halton police have charged 26-year-old Angel Harris of Scarborough with offences related to breaking and entering including the theft of two motor vehicles, and possessing stolen property worth over $5,000.
Harris was held in custody pending a bail hearing at a Milton courthouse.
Detectives are investigating to identify the other suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.
