The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) approved its 2025-26 budget estimates at a board meeting on Tuesday.

The approved budget is $533,963,093. Revenue has been estimated at $546.1 million, and total expenses have been estimated at $533.9 million, including compliance adjustments.

The final estimates will be submitted to the Ministry of Education by June 30.

In a media release the Board stated it is lowest funded school board per student in Ontario.

The Board estimates an average daily enrolment of 21,587 for elementary students and 14,834 for secondary students for the 2025-26 school year.

HCDSB operates 48 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools and three continuing education facilities, currently serving over 36,000 students. The majority of the Board’s funding allocation is based on student enrolment.

School boards operate on a fiscal year that runs from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31.
