Hamilton is going to be rocking this weekend, as two separate festivals expect to bring more than 200 000 people to the city.

Last year it rained during the entire Supercrawl but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the crowd. The event still drew more than a 100 000 people to James Street North and organizers are expecting an even bigger crowd this year. Rockband “The Trews” will kick off the party on Friday night followed by a long list of hot acts throughout the weekend.

A few blocks away Locke street will be hopping as well at the 17th annual Locke Street Festival, the street will be shut down the entire day. “We’ve got total of 160 merchants, arts and crafts, lots of great food.”

While Supercrawl and the Locke Street Festival happen to be on the same weekend this year, organizers don’t feel that they’re in competition with each other, in fact there’ll even be shuttle busses running between the two events.

Road closures for James North started Thursday and will be closed down until Monday.
