Former Raptors head coach Dwane Casey signs 5 year deal with the Pistons

The Detroit Pistons have hired Dwane Casey to be their new head coach.

The former Raptors bench boss putting pen to paper on a 5 year contract worth an reported $7 million dollars a year. He’ll take over from Stan Van Gundy who was fired after a 39-43 record.

Last season, Casey led the Raps to a franchise best 59-23 record and has been nominated for NBA Coach of the Year.

An introductory news conference will be held next week.

Toronto is currently the only NBA team without a head coach.
