Ford Nation remains loyal to Toronto mayor

A week of drug allegations and denials has not shaken Ford Nation.

A poll of nearly 1,400 Torontonians shows Rob Ford is the ”Teflon and Kevlar” mayor.

Forum Research president Lorne Bozinoff says it looks like Ford has a pretty loyal group of supporters, adding unless the issue deals with his performance as leader, they don’t seem to impact his popularity.

The survey also hasn’t changed Ford’s election prospects.

In a one-on-one match-up with Olivia Chow, the poll found she would win more than half the vote (56 per cent), to about a third for the mayor (36 per cent) – nearly unchanged from a poll in early May.

In a three-way contest between the mayor, Chow, and John Tory, Chow would win with 42 per cent of the vote to about 27 per cent for Ford and 24 per cent for Tory.

Again, almost identical to the May survey.
