Fatal morning crash in Niagara-on-the-Lake may have been caused by medical episode: police

Police are investigating a fatal head-on crash this morning in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake that may have been caused by medical episode.

Around 6:45 a.m., on Jan. 21, officers responded to the two-vehicle crash in the area of Portage Rd. and Stanley Ave.

Detectives said one of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The second driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, early information suggests the deceased driver suffered a medical episode while operating a vehicle.
