Fatal crash on 403 in Ancaster

A deadly crash on the 403 in Ancaster this afternoon. A woman driving on the highway somehow ended up in the oncoming lanes and slammed into a tractor-trailer.

The crash closed the 403 westbound lanes and clogged surrounding arteries and side streets with overflow traffic.

The westbound 403 lanes just reopened at 6 o’clock after being shut down for about four hours.

A Toyota sedan was travelling eastbound when the driver lost control and drove though the median which is made up of really high grass. The car was then struck by the transport truck. The woman behind the wheel was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the transport truck escaped without any injuries.

There is no further information at this time on the woman who died. Collision reconstruction will be going over the results to find out what exactly caused this crash in-house.
