Disney is closing its theme park resorts in Florida and California over COVID-19 concerns.

The company says it has decided to shut down its parks “in an abundance of caution.”

Walt Disney World in Florida will close on March 16 until the end of the month and Walt Disneyland in California will start its closure on March 14.

Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs will remain open until further notice.

The Hotels of Disneyland Resort will be open until Monday to give guests the ability to make necessary travel arrangements and Downtown Disney will also remain open.

“We will monitor the ongoing situation and follow the advice and guidance of federal and state officials and health agencies,” said the company in a news release on their website.

Disney says it will continue to pay staff during the closure period.
