Canadians to begin receiving last federal carbon rebate payments

Starting today, Canadians in most provinces across the country may see their final carbon rebates deposited into their bank accounts.
People in eight provinces – excluding British Columbia and Quebec – will receive between $95 and $225.
In Ontario, the base amount is $140.
If you filed your taxes by April 2, you’ll get your rebate before the April 28 election. If not, it will be deposited after your tax return is assessed.
The rebate offsets the consumer carbon pricing, which the federal government scrapped on April 1.
