A non-profit overseeing medical alert bracelets, MedicAlert Canada, is introducing technology that connects health records directly to 911 dispatchers.

With 800,000 users across Canada, the bracelets help first responders identify medical conditions in emergencies.

The MedicAlert Canada Foundation says this technology could provide critical information when every second counts.

It was tested in Ottawa last year and is expected to expand to other regions.
