Canadian border agents seize $23M worth of cocaine in Windsor

Canadian border agents in Windsor have charged a man after seizing more than $23 million worth of cocaine at the Ambassador Bridge in May.
Canada Border Services Agency says it intercepted 187.5 kilograms of suspected cocaine heading into Canada from the United States May 23.
The agency says 161 bricks of cocaine were hidden in the trailer of a commercial truck inside five garbage bags and two suitcases.
The 55-year-old driver from Richmond Hill is facing several drug-related charges.
“This successful seizure highlights the RCMP’s ongoing commitment to disrupt and dismantle organized crime, and is a testament to the dedication and collaboration between our law enforcement partners,” said Superintendent James Parr, the acting officer in charge of Criminal Operations with RCMP Central Region.
They say the investigation is ongoing.
