Canada set to clamp down on more single-use plastics

We’re learning more about Canada’s plans to clamp down on single-use plastic items.  The items that will disappear already have environmentally friendly alternatives available in the marketplace.  Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson says plastic straws, stir sticks, carry-out bags, cutlery, dishes and takeout containers, along with six-pack rings for cans and bottles will all be outlawed by the end of 2021. Canada currently recycles less than 10 per cent of the three million tonnes of plastic it produces each year
