A 29-year-old man from Caledon has been arrested after border officers seized a major cocaine shipment at the Blue Water Bridge near Sarnia.

According to the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), the cocaine — valued at $24.6 million — was discovered in a commercial truck arriving from the United States.

Seven bags containing bricks of suspected cocaine were found during an inspection of the trailer.

Onkar Kalsi, 29, of Caledon was arrested by border officers and transferred to the custody of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

The RCMP has charged Kalsi with importation of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
