Burlington teacher will spend another 30 days behind bars

A Burlington teacher will spend another 30 days behind bars in Indonesia.

Neil Bantleman is being held without charges while police investigate sex abuse claims involving students.

November 11th will mark 120 days in prison.

At that point Bantleman will either need to be charged or released.

His brother, Guy Bantleman, says the prosecutor has told him there’s a lack of evidence and that’s why Neil has not been formally charged.

Bantleman wrote the following message on behalf of himself and another teacher who has also been locked up.

“Together we stand stronger than ever for truth and justice. Our lives have changed but for the better as we entered as friends and will leave as brothers – our hearts pure and our bond unbroken,”
