Burlington speed cameras in school zones to be activated in 90 days

The City of Burlington has installed six speed cameras near schools which the city says will become active in 90 days.
The city installed signs at all six locations that read “Municipal Speed Cameras Coming Soon,” to give drivers a 90-day-warning before the signs are changed to say “Municipal Speed Cameras In Use,” when the cameras are activated.
The speed cameras are being installed with the goal of keeping students safe in different parts of the city. The cameras are expected to be moved every six months.
The initial cameras will be at Aldershot Secondary School on Fairwood Place West, St. John’s Catholic Elementary School and Central Public School on Brant Street, Kilbride Public School on Kilbride Street, Sir Ernest Macmillan Public School on Headon Street, St. Christopher Catholic Elementary School on Sutton Drive and Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School on Headon Forest Drive.
