Authorities have confirmed the suspect in the deadly Brown University shooting and the murder of an MIT professor has been found dead, bringing an end to the days-long multi-state manhunt.

Authorities in Providence determined the 48-year-old died by suicide after his body was discovered in a storage unit in Salem, New Hampshire. Law enforcement officials say Claudio Neves Valente was pronounced dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Valente, a Portuguese national and former Brown University student, was located late on Thursday, ending the intensive six-day search.
